RMCT is excited to announce our new Technical Theatre program for the summer of 2010! We believe the technical
elements of a show are just as important as the performing elements, and that is why we are proud to be unique in the area
in offering this type of theatre education to young adults. We will have the great fortune of working under the instruction
of Lara Kirksey, who is a Teacher of
Stage Craft and Design at Denver School of the Arts (DSA) and a Costumer with Denver Center for Performing Arts. Lara
will be our Technical Theatre Coordinator and Designer for this part of our summer camp programming. The camp day will
be divided into several class blocks with rotating activities including: Theatrical Design, Costume Construction, Set Construction,
Basic Lighting Technique, and Scenic Art. Each student will work closely with our professional staff, building the sets
and constructing the costumes for each of the camp shows. Students can register in one or both of our three-week camp
sessions. During each session, they will work behind-the-scenes on each of the three shows that will take place at the
end of that particular session of camp. The same tuition prices, discounts, dates, hours, and enrollment process for
the performing arts camps applies to our Technical Theatre Camp. A student interested in both on and off stage work
can register in one session of each type of camp.
