Rocky Mountain Conservatory Theatre
is excited to announce our Fall 2010 session of Acting & Dance Classes for children
ages 7 to 17, located at The University of Denver. We recognize a hunger for intensive
and dynamic training programs for children and young adults interested in theatre arts, and look forward continuing to provide
the best performing arts programming to the Colorado youth community.

ACTING ACTING CONSERVATORY Ages:
11-17 Saturdays: 12:00-2:50 (3 Hours) Winter Session - 10 WEEKS: (1/23, 1/30,
2/6, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 4/10, 4/17) (no class
2/13, 3/27, 4/3) Fall Session: T.B.A. This
will be an intensive Acting Conservatory Program, designed to foster the young actor's creative process. We will provide
conservatory training, with focus ranging from Shakespeare/stage work to film and television. Individual classes will
examine emotional truth and process, scale for the camera vs. scale for the stage, stage combat, and vocal/movement training
for the actor. It is crucial to understand that those who aspire to professional status cannot grow without regular
application of the above. Conservatory Training is an ongoing process; its purpose is to prepare young
actors for the stage, film, and t.v. REGISTER FOR

ACTING 101 Ages: 7-10 Saturdays: 10:00-11:50 (2 Hours) Winter Session - 6 WEEKS:
(1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6) (no class 2/13) Fall Session: T.B.A.
This
fun class is for the creative child who is determined to be on stage. Successful actors and performers start off on
the stage learning how to be comfortable in their own skin so that they can begin to play the roles of other people. We start
the class with creative dramatics, and by teaching students a number of exercises and games to help them get over the fear
of performing in front of others. After we create this safe environment in which to explore, we begin skill building for creating
characters for the stage. This class is appropriate for students who are new to acting, and for those who have taken Acting
101 in the past. Finally, we apply the character work in scenes from plays appropriate for the students’ age,
and after six weeks of training, we put on a showcase to celebrate their new found skills. REGISTER FOR ACTING 101 CLASS ONLINE
